In 1777, Joseph Arkwright changed the course of the River Wye to power his cotton mill. His legacy was followed by Dujardin Plante Battery Company, who set up a manufacturing plant in Arkwright’s Lumford Mill in 1898.

These were the first chapters in a long history of people - powered change alone the River Wye in Bakewell.

Now owned by Litton, the 225,000 sq ft. site continues to evolve.

Today, we’re crafting a unique work, stay, shop and play, with better spaces for businesses across all sectors to thrive and a curated selection of retail and leisure experiences for all to enjoy. Everything we do it rooted on our community and the character of this special place.

New space is available for businesses from 1,000 to 45,000 sq ft.

We are carefully curating the next phase of Riverside with consent granted and implemented for the development of a 72-bed hotel adding another amenity to our community.
